After two hours of testimony at a pre-examination hearing in St. Clair Shores 40th District Court, a 21-year-old Southfield man was bound over for trial in Macomb County Circuit Court on charges of second-degree murder and felony firearm. Nathaniel Joseph Taylor is accused of shooting 17-year-old Taya Land in the head on I-94 just north of the Vernier Road exit on Oct. 14, 2022. Land's body was discovered early on the morning of Oct. 15 during the beginning of rush hour, according to testimony, clothed only in a T-shirt.
